Global Partnerships

Challenges Facing the Sector

The association recognises the myriad challenges its members face, and engages to find sustainable solutions:

Energy Cost Pressures: Escalating electricity and gas tariffs have placed severe strain on operational costs, leading to reduced production capacity in many regions.

Raw Material Cost Volatility: Fluctuating yarn and cotton prices directly affect production profitability and planning.

Modernisation Needs: Many traditional looms require upgrades to match efficiencies seen with modern shuttle-less machines — a transition that demands investment and supportive policy frameworks.

Labour & Compliance: Ensuring worker safety, social security coverage and regulatory compliance continue to be a focus for sustainable industry growth.

APPLA’s Strategic Objectives

Empowering Members Through Action and Advocacy

The All-Pakistan Power Looms Association champions the interests of power loom owners and the wider textile community by:

  • Policy Engagement: Representing members in dialogues with government and utilities on tariffs, energy access, and business-friendly regulations.
  • Market Intelligence & Advisory: Providing insights on raw material trends, domestic and international markets, and competitive pressures.
  • Skill & Safety Workshops: Hosting capacity building sessions on productivity, occupational health, and compliance.
  • Facilitating Trade Documentation: Supporting members with certificates, official letters, and verification tools to streamline trade processes.
